Membership

The Wilmington Choral Society consists of men and women who are dedicated to the performance of the best of choral music. Our repertoire ranges from the great classical masterpieces to contemporary secular music. If you have the desire, commitment and willingness to sing joyfully, we want you in our group.

We rehearse Tuesday evenings from 7:30 until 9:30 at Cape Fear Christian Church, 811 N. College Road (go to map). A warm and sincere invitation is extended to anyone interested in joining our group. Just come to one of our "open" rehearsals during the months of August or January. NO AUDITION is required for membership in our chorus. On the topic of rehearsals, occasionally additional rehearsals or sectionals will be scheduled as the director perceives a need.

To remain an active member you may not miss more than 3 rehearsals per concert season. Open rehearsals do not count in this attendance policy. Attendance is recorded by our section leaders at each rehearsal. It is your responsibility to check in with your section leader. If you must be absent, a phone call to your section leader is always appreciated.
Music

The music in your packet is either owned by the choral society or borrowed from other sources. Any markings should be done in pencil so that they may be easily erased if necessary. If we order new music, members may purchase their own personal copy if they so choose. See the treasurer for details. The librarian will collect all music after each concert.
Membership dues

Membership dues are $50 per season. There are two seasons Jan-May and Aug-Dec. Dues should be paid by the third open rehearsal. See our treasurer to pay dues.
Dress code

Concert attire is as follows: Women - Long black skirt, no more than 7 inches from the floor. Long sleeve black blouse(or black dress), black hosiery and shoes(flats or low heels) Men - Black pants, black coats or black suit, long sleeve white shirts with black bow tie, black socks, belt and shoes. Please do not wear perfume/cologne/aftershave during rehearsals/concerts.
