The Wilmington Choral society has been providing the Lower Cape Fear region with outstanding choral performances for over 58 years. Founded in 1950, the group is dedicated to high performance standards in presenting the masterworks of choral literature, as well as a wide variety of contemporary music.
Known for a time as the Wilmington Oratorio Society, and having a succession of distinguished conductors, the group has continuously attracted singers from Wilmington and surrounding counties.. As a true community effort, the Wilmington Choral Society's support is derived from membership dues, corporate and individual donations. Representing a diversity in age, professions, and geographic distribution,  the Wilmington Choral Society presents up to four concerts annually, thus establishing itself as an integral part of Wilmington's cultural community.

If you love to sing beautiful music, like being part of a great group of friendly people, and live in Wilmington or surrounding areas, the Wilmington Choral Society invites you to share your talents with us. Our group is open to persons of all ages, from all walks of life, and varied cultural backgrounds. We do a wide variety of music that will appeal to all. We divide our year into Fall and Spring seasons. Typically, we do two concerts a season. We normally have rehearsals on Tuesday nights that last for two hours. Our rehearsals are held at Cape Fear Christian Church, 811 North College Road, Wilmington, N.C. 28405. Three open rehearsals are held at the beginning of each season for those who would like to join our group. Our dues are $35.00 per season. We will begin with  open rehearsals for the Fall Season on Tuesday, August 19th, August 26th, and September 2nd, 2008. Open rehearsals for the Spring season will be held on January 6th, January 13th, and January 20th, 2009. All open rehearsals will start at 7:00 pm.  Please come and join us for our 58th year of performing delightful music.
