Guidelines for The Ralph Robins Award

Eligibility

• To be eligible for the scholarship an applicant must be a graduating high school senior in the Cape Fear Tri-County area (New Hanover, Brunswick and Pender counties) during the 2011-2012 school year.
• The applicant must be an active member of a vocal performing arts program during the 2011-2012 school year.
• On a CD the applicant must provide a complete song or movement of at least two minutes in length which showcases their range and ability.
• The applicant must continue their study of vocal performing arts or music education in a postsecondary institution.

Application

• Application form and audition CD must be postmarked by or sent via email by December 15, 2011.
• Please note that each applicant must provide a PERSONAL RESPONSE STATEMENT to be completed on a separate sheet of paper.
• Mail application and audition CD or electronic recording to:

Rules & Requirements

• If any applicant is a student of a participating judge, that judge will declare that relationship.
• The decision of the judges will be final.
• If necessary, there will be a second round of live auditions.
• Recipients are expected to apply the award towards academic expenses; the scholarship amount is set at $600.
• The recipient will perform as a guest soloist at the WCS Spring concert.
